How do I get an archived chat back?
In ChatGPT, open Settings → General → Archived chats → Manage. Hover any chat to unarchive (restore) it to your sidebar. Archiving is always reversible.
Why does archiving or deleting take a little while?
Tidy processes one chat at a time so it stays reliable with ChatGPT's system and doesn't trip rate limits. The progress bar shows it working — keep the tab open until it finishes; it hasn't frozen.
Is delete permanent?
Yes. Deletion can't be undone, so Tidy always asks you to confirm first and clearly marks it in red. If you're unsure, use Archive instead — it's reversible.
Is my data private?
Everything runs in your browser with your existing ChatGPT session. Tidy has no servers and no tracking, and never sends your chats or account anywhere except back to ChatGPT itself. The only thing stored is a simple local count of how many chats you've tidied.
It stopped loading my chats or shows an error
Tidy relies on ChatGPT's own interface, which occasionally changes. Make sure you're signed in to ChatGPT, then reload the page. If it persists, email us — we'll push a fix.
