Privacy Policy

What we collect

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. There is no analytics, no tracking, and no telemetry.

How clipping works

When you clip a page, its content (title, author, description, images, text) is extracted from the active tab and held in memory only while the popup is open. That content is sent directly to the Notion API using your own OAuth access token — it never passes through our servers.

What our server handles

We operate a lightweight backend at notion-clipper-api.vercel.app for two purposes only, and it stores neither value:

OAuth token exchange: when you connect Notion, your browser sends a temporary authorisation code to our server, which exchanges it with Notion for an access token. The token is returned to your browser and stored locally — we do not keep it.

License verification: when you activate a Pro license, your license key is sent to our server, which verifies it with Gumroad. We do not store your license key.

Data stored in your browser

The extension saves the following in Chrome's local storage on your device: your Notion OAuth access token, workspace name, connected database preferences, and license activation status. This never leaves your browser except when making requests to the Notion API on your behalf.

Third-party services

Notion API (api.notion.com) — to read your databases and create pages. Governed by Notion's privacy policy.

Gumroad API (api.gumroad.com) — to verify Pro license keys; only the license key is sent. Governed by Gumroad's privacy policy.

Permissions

activeTab — to read the content of the page you're clipping; only activates when you click the icon. storage — to save your preferences and authentication state locally. identity — for the OAuth flow that connects your Notion account.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party, and we do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
